About The Project
This is a montage of three short promotional spots I created for Alameda Theatre Company’s production of Chile Con Carne. I have been closely involved with the marketing of Alameda since it’s inception and along the way we have taken a variety of approaches to the challenge of using video to promote theatre.
For these spots we chose to dramatise three moments from the story of the play rather than depict the play itself – filming theatre rarely captures the true experience of a production so the object was to capture the spirit of the play. The evocative and atmospheric underscore was composed by Edgardo Moreno who also designed the sound for the show.
